Productive!

I got a haircut!

I planted my chia herb garden!

And I took a picture of the LOVELY calla lily I have growing on my fire escape. You know, at first I thought this plant was just a cool plant with big leaves!

I am looking forward to a few more days off, a little sparkle, a little wine and lots of good company!

Secrets revealed!

So, I forgot to take a picture of ALL the suprises that are out into the world because I was crazed and crafting like a madwoman. Things got through without photographic proof. Not everything though! I made some stuff for Ryan.

First and foremost the coolest thing I made was a flannel. I was pretty proud although there are mistakes namely the collar. Now I know for next time, but I am pretty proud of how my *first* flannel shirt came out. He was pleased and he has actually WORE it! OUT OF THE HOUSE!! So I am counting it as a win!!

I also made him a tiny Frida Kahlo out of clay. First I made a little drawing of how I wanted her to look.

Then I made her, painted her and then glossed her. She is pretty close to my favorite thing.

I also crocheted a tiny cactus for him from an anapaula pattern. He loved her!

Christmas

Ahhh. As if relaxing all day yesterday wasn't enough, I think I am going to take this oppourtunity to do the same today. We had a lovely Christmas this year, made all the better from all the love from home. We missed everyone bunches and bunches, well except the snow. The snow can stay in Ohio. But, this was amazing for us because it was our first year in a one bedroom apartment BY OURSELVES in San Francisco.

Christmas Eve was nice, we watched Elf and drank white russians, all while snuggling under the light of our tree and lights and being enticed by all of the lovely bounty under the tree. You see, it has been a few years since we have had actual presents to open under the tree except for a few things here and there. This was a real treat and we felt over spoiled. It was great. But the white russians for some reason have become a tradition...

Then we fell asleep to wake up on Christmas morning to a lot of fun!

Ryan got a rain suit! Sorry the pic is so bad, I couldn't stand still to photograph him. He loves it! and he will be dry on his way to work now!

And I got the entire store at Kidrobot. and a Wee Wonderfuls book! Also some much needed new shoes!! So fun :) The donut pillow is now a perfect throw pillow for our couch! If I can keep Baby's paws off it, she thought it was for her. Well, she didn't get anything to open so that could be why.

Merry Christmas Eve Everybody!

I hope its white russians, elf, the big lebowski and snuggling with your family too!! xoxo

Treeeee Love

Right now I am sitting, watching a movie, sitting next to the most beautiful tree in the world. Those ornaments are some of my favorites on the tree. And being honest the ones that came out clear. I love the colors... :)

Getting Ready

Today was a long day. All I will say is that shopping is not fun and I like shopping on the internet WAY better than shopping in a real store. And I am frustrated and got hardly anything done today even though I set a goal to...

We did get our tree. And it is beautiful. And undecorated for now.

And I am pretty sure it will be till tomorrow. Wanna know how I know? I am drinking a glass of wine and dinner is in the oven. Yeah you know I am ready to be done...

Our stockings are hung too. Yes Baby gets a full size one. She deserves the most amount of treats. No, I do. I had a long day.

Christmas-y pizza with my man...

I love dinner with my boy. Especially at Christmastime. Everything is so decorated and lovely.

When we go to Goat Hill Pizza, one of our favorites, they have paper tablecloths and we draw. I draw mermaids.

And Pizza.

And a muffin that I got water on.

It is truly one of my favorite times with my guy. Drawing, pizza and holiday lights!

More sparkles in my life!

I had a great show today, I love hanging out with crafters and meeting people.

I also decorated my mantel.

Here is a closeup of the Snowman. I couldn't get a picture of the tiny snowmen that I made because the lighting sucks cause its been pouring all day. I made the pom pom garland too. It took more time than I wanted it to. haha

And here is the cute little snowflakes. :)

I am about to work on an amigurumi robot for a friend of mine. I will share pictures because he is really little and can't read, so even if he sees the blog he won't know its for him. :)

Battle Burn, and why art is so fun!

Last night we got the opportunity to go to something called Battle Burn. It is where there are a bunch of artists that go head to head in a competition to be the best artist. They "battle" for 15 minutes and then the audience votes on the best one. First, each artist picked a theme and they had to incorporate both into the drawins. Our friend David was one of the artists! So we had to go to represent him. Also, another artist that we like, Skinner was there. Both of them lost. Sorry for the spoiler...

He was pretty nervous, his theme was zombies and beach, both things he hates:

Here he is starting:

Some progress:

And his finished drawing, he used charcoal and most everyone else was using paint with a bunch of colors. This is why he lost. The other guy's drawing wasn't that good, but it had a lot of color.

Also we were there for Skinner. He got God and feather:

Here he is setting up:

Here he is painting:

Here he is ruining my final shot:

So here is a terrible cell phone picture of Skinner's piece and also the winning God piece(the lady). Skinner was totally robbed.

So I learned a few things. Art in a competition for is funny. David needs to use a color if he wants to win because people in the audience don't know what is cool. I thought it was so fun and would go again. We left early though because it was WAY too long.

The rest of this weekend will involve crafts. Tomorrow I have a craft show. We will see how it goes!

Sites around town...

I love this time of year. I love working downtown so I get to see all of the cool displays around.

Tall Trees:

Gingerbread Homes:

Also, we went to a really fun show at 111 Minna. It was 111 artists with small pieces of art. My very favorite artist of right now, Kelly Tunstall, had a piece. It was lovely. I wish I had the money to buy expensive art because I would have bought this piece right here:

I will own one of these one day. She is awesome.

This weekend I will be crafting, decorating, and loving right now.

Little Bits

Decorating is coming right along! You might think that is a red and green curtain from being holiday-ish, but we are just mismatched like that and those are our regulars...I am going to put some more decorations up this weekend and then we are getting our tree on the 11th I think. I love the cozy and festiveness of it all!

And, because I am crazy, I have added additional gifts to my gifts to make list! I am going to shoot for the moon and hopefully get somewhere near it. Because handmade is always good and hopefully well loved. I have a few things in mind for mr. RyRy and some littles on my list. I hope your season is coming along nicely!
