16 more stuff on etsy i love

I spend way too much time on etsy. I love it more than I should. Here are some things I really want. Come on lucky scratch off ticket. I will you to happen.


This necklace from roundabout on etsy is super awesome. I need a cute outfit and a fun date that wants to buy me a glass of wine to wear it with.


Then I saw this sweater pattern from Good Egg by Sarah Graves. I died immediately. Then I came back to life and remembered that I can't knit. Yet. I have to have it!



And then this. THe coolest thing ever. I have always wanted a sweater clip, they are so fashion-y and adorable. I have to have this skeleton hand one before I explode. It is by ItsaSwindle. It is quite possibly the thing I want most.

I am a nerd. Right now I have awful allergies and am drowsy from lovely benedryl. ugh

Baby got a new bed. I think its a little small for her. well slightly small. I think we will call it cozy. I saw her laying in it. But all the evidence I have that she likes it is this picture. It is funny.



And I thought I should show you some cutie pie progress from another artist in this here household.



By the way, that is pretty much my favorite face EVER.

Now I have to go and find some dinner for these here inspired folks...

We had a really colorful weekend :) new curtains, new grass, new flowers, good breakfast, good times!

12 i am really bad with Fridays!

I think it is because most of the time I come home, eat dinner, watch 30 rock and fall asleep. You know? but I am trying to be better!

Today I went with my lovely lady friends to a super fun craft show. I saw a lot of awesome people, especially my good friend Polly from Pollyanna Cowgirl! She is always so sweet and I got this AWESOME dino necklace that I may never take off...



now I am exhausted and don't have the energy to take a picture of the awesome mug of elephants doing the nasty, orgy style that I picked up from an ESTATE SALE! It was amazing. I have never seen an old lady own so many Playgirls.

Also I got some really cute tiny feather fascinator bobby pins that I will take a photo of tomorrow to show you. No light + sleep girl = no fun pictures.

Now I am drinking some coffee before I die, then walking the dog.

Its a pain to make with all the heating of the water and the complicated drip process one cup at a time. But goodness. I have never had a better cup of coffee than my own...




See?! And in my favorite mug too. mmm.

10 Taco Bake

Yum! We had Taco Bake for dinner. It was originally a weight watchers recipe somewhere back in there. I adopted it and now its mine.

First you cut up one onion and a jalepeno pepper and saute them in a little olive oil. Make sure you wash your hands after you cut up the pepper or your nose will be on fire from scratching it. Im just saying.



Then you add Quorn ground soy. Or regular meat somewhere around a pound, whatever. My vegetarianism doesn't include meat so whatevs. And at this point you can season with salt and pepper with your cutie pie flamingo salt and pepper shakers. What? I like them...



Next cut up a couple of tomatoes and add them.



Then take a can of beans(I used pinto cause I like them) and a can of corn and rinse them really good. Then add them to your pan.



Then there are a couple steps I forgot to take a picture of. Like adding the taco seasoning. A very important step if you ask me. It is my favorite taste almost. You take an 8 x 8 pan and put 3 torn up tortillas in the bottom. Then you layer with 1/2 the meat mix.Then you add a layer of low fat sour cream.



Next you put another layer of tortillas torn up and then another layer of the meat mixture(the rest of it I guess :D) and then you top it with 1/2 a cup of cheese, put it in a 350 degree oven and bake for 30 minutes. It comes out really pretty.



Then you talk your boyfriend into making guacamole even though he is tired. and hungry. and cranky cause he is hungry.



Then you feed that boyfriend so he becomes much more pleasant.



Then you have a glass of wine and look past the fact that you are not going to exercise today. Bad Lauren.

9! Sketch Tuesday

The gallery 111 Minna does a super fun thing called sketch tuesdays. Once a month fancy artist-types draw and hang their art to sell. You have to get invited to sit at the table and there are neat people who are drawing. Spectators like myself can sit on the sidelines and draw or watch the art being made. It is a fun live art show. I get bored drawing quickly so I brought supplies for plushy making. I made a blue bear.

He likes beer apparently. Maybe it calms him from his shark attacked arm and ear.



Here is Ryan drawing some stuff. All in all a rocking good time. I like to think that the people in the background are having an intense conversation about craft versus art. Not really, but I felt weird crafting at an art thing...

Today was fun, Ryan let me cut his hair! He was only gonna let me cut it a little then he let me cut it a lot. Way fun and super cute.

He also brought me flowers :)



No fabric store today, maybe this week after work...

6 - :( skipped yesterday ooops. fridays are hard for me

Hi! I skipped yesterday but only cause I was stuck at an art show for 20 hours and didn't get home till after midnight. I was so sleepy I fell asleep right when we got home.

Today is Ryan's first day back to working on Saturdays and I am bored. It makes me feel all spendy when he works on the weekends for some reason, I think I feel like in order to entertain myself I need to spend money. Which is a bad idea. So, I had to get a shower curtain at target, and I ended up getting a pink flamingo one, pics later I am sure, but I left it in the car and if you live in San Francisco you know that parking can be a challenge so it is far far away and uphill and when I left my car I forgot it in there. Also I got a new lamp cause we just don't have enough light in this room!

ANYWAYS, I have that pattern I showed you a couple days ago that I am DYING to sew so I figured, hey I have some time off today, why don't I go to the fabric store, get some binding, get the fabric I want and make it!? Well, the fabric store led to a new pattern that I HAD TO HAVE.



But alas, they did not have my size in the pattern. But now it was the only thing I wanted today. Sad. I went to Jo Ann's mostly cause it was right by Target, and they don't always have my favorite fabric and there was this awesome tattoo fabric I wanted at Mendells right down the street from my house in the Haight. I figured, well if I can't have the NEW pattern I want, I will at least buy the fabric I want and make the original dress when I get home! So I drove home found that far away parking space, walked to Mendells and lo and behold, my favorite fabric was about 1/2 yard too short to work with. UGH! So no new pattern, no new fabric, no new dress. :( bummer. But the upside is, I ordered the pattern online when I got home and tomorrow hopefully I can hunt down some awesome fabric. I might even buy some from Spoonflower cause there is a lot of that I want too!

So now I am NOT going to sew, but instead clean a little and watch TV till I get Ryan and he can put together my new lamp!!! Tomorrow I will hunt.

Still going strong! Woo Hoo. Today I had a half day at work so I had time for homemade pizza for lunch!



I really liked it. I made pizza dough from the Pioneer Woman. It is excellent. Obviously mine was only cheese cause I am a veggie, but her chicken pizza looks pretty darn awesome.



On my day off I had big plans, :) to shop for fabric, but I think that will have to wait. I instead watched some very relaxing tv and snuggled the pup.



Big plans to workout day 2 so that I can earn more etsy dollars so that I can buy awesome stuff. I just bought a bag of vintage rhinestones that I CANNOT wait to use. On something.

This is my favorite of the smaller dolls I made. I like her hair with the little shirt. My favorite thing about all of these dolls is their handmade pants.

Today was kind of rushed, I went and bought stuff for dinner, started my dinner and then worked out(yay!) I ended up running out of time. I am exhausted too and don't feel like stitching anything up.

I am going to reward myself for working out with etsy money. Every day I work out I am rewarding myself with one etsy dollar. This way I can earn things I want on etsy without feeling guilty about buying them. Ryan even said he would match the money to help motivate. Awesome!

Tomorrow is a half day at work, good thing, I am feeling like a vacation for sure. I am going to come home and drink bluebottle coffee and smile.

I think I am going to blog every day for a year starting now

Hi. I am challenging myself to stick to this! It will be good for me. And I am sure you care what I do day to day, right? haha.



That is my bored face. Sometimes on Sundays I feel really motivated. This was not one of those Sundays. :) We did get some errarnds done, boring stuff but stuff that needed to be done none the less. I wanted to work on this dress:



But, I didn't get to the fabric store in time(mostly due to laziness) and so I didn't get the fabric I wanted to make with this pattern and now I am not feeling like doing any work. I saw a really cute dress made out of that pattern, which I bought a hundred years ago when I was still in Ohio, and it inspired me to hop to it! So that is going to be a big project for me this week!

ugh. too much chocolate in my life. I have a food problem. If it is at my arms length, it is in my tummy. I try not to keep too many snacks around.

It needs to be back to working out for this guy(gal I guess)! I am starting to feel just not good. So, this weekend I am going to have to start getting my food in check and myself working out again, ah pilates video and biggest loser video, I have missed you! well not really but I am glad to see you back.

Other than that I have not been sewing too much lately but listed a ton of stuff on Etsy. Hopefully I will be back in the swing of things soon, but I have a knitting project I want to take on this weekend and maybe some drawing projects too.

I am thinking about making a cute little sundress soon too, I have a pattern that I love that I want to work on.

Did I tell you that I watched "The Secret" ? Well, I thought it was going to be lame and it was anything but. So inspirational and exactly how i look at the world. I have been trying to keep myself in check and on the positive side. The law of attraction is so true. If you are thinking positively then good things will happen.

I am hoping for a nice weekend. I would like to try and sew and also to rollerskate! It has been rainy the past few sundays and so no skating for me. Heres to sunshine...
